While indigestion is usually nothing to be concerned about, if it is constant or reoccurring, it may be an indication of other underlying issues.

Indigestion usually happens after eating or drinking, although not always straight away.

The most common symptoms include:

Heartburn – this is a burning sensation in your chest
Abdominal pain
Feeling full and heavy after eating
Feeling sick
Burping
Bloating
Stomach cramps
Growling stomach
Passing wind
Loss of appetite
Bringing up bitter, acidic tasting fluid
Dry cough, worse when lying down

Indigestion is usually only short-term and the discomfort or pain will pass once the food or drink has moved through your digestive system. However, some people can experience the symptoms for longer, or they can have recurring bouts of it. If this is the case, it is a good idea to speak to a GP for further advice.
