Child consultations
Our clinicians are able to consult with children and young people aged 2-17, but there are a few guidelines that must be kept in mind.
More information on child consultations
Required ID checks
Both the child and the parent/guardian will be subject to an ID check that complies with NHS England’s standards on ID verification. For adults, this must be a form of photographic ID, while for children this can be a passport or birth certificate.
Prioritising safety
In addition to the required ID checks, the accompanying adult may be asked further questions in order for our clinicians to safely care for the child or young person.
Emergency signs
When booking a child consultation, the adult will be shown an emergency screen, which will advise on any symptoms or signs that require a call to emergency services rather than booking a consultation.
Recorded details
For safeguarding reasons, we keep records of the adult and child present during an appointment. This is to help protect both attendees and audit personal details where necessary.

Your Push Doctor guide
Looking to book an appointment with us for the first time? We do things a little differently to your traditional GP practice, so if you're unsure about the process simply follow this step-by-step guide where we'll take you through everything you need to know.
We’re here to help!
What happens in the online video consultation?
Just like in a physical consultation, the online clinician will discuss your symptoms. As it's a video consultation, they can also take a look at any affected areas, or listen out for symptoms. Where medication is needed for you to get better, the GP can issue a prescription.
How do I book my appointment?
Once you have signed up for an account, you can book online appointments in our app or on the website. Once it’s time for your consultation, you’ll enter our online waiting room, and the clinician will see you as soon as possible.
What does sharing medical records do?
By agreeing to share your records, notes made in your consultation will be available to GP's at your local surgery.
Do I need to de-register from my GP to use Push Doctor?
Absolutely not. Push Doctor is a service which supplements your current GP service to give you better access to amazing healthcare, when you need it. By using the service you won't be de-registering from your GP and will still have access to a physical appointment should you need one.
What if I need to see a someone in person?
The online video consultation service through Push Doctor is in addition to the services you’re already offered at your surgery. This means that you'll still be able to see your regular doctor in person. To do this, you just book in as normal.
