How the service works

Your surgery has partnered up with Push Doctor so that you can see a GP online, the same day.

  1. Register online

It only takes a few minutes. When you're eligible, you can sign up here, or download our app.

  2. Book an appointment

You can do this quickly online, in the app or on the website. You'll also be able to call your surgery to book.

  3. See a doctor from wherever you are

Have an online video consultation on any device the same day.

95% of our patients get the help they need during an online video consultation.

We're here to help!

We've answered some frequently asked questions about our service.

How do I book my appointment?

When you get an invite to the service, you’ll be able to register an account with us online.

You can book online appointments in our app or on the website. Once it’s time for your consultation, you’ll enter our online waiting room, and the doctor will see you as soon as possible.

What happens during a consultation?

In your online video consultation, the GP will ask you about your symptoms and can take a look at any affected areas, or listen to any symptoms, for example if you have a cough.

If you’d like to use text to communicate with the GP in your consultation, there’s a chat functionality.

When you need medication to get better, the GP can write you a prescription.

Who are the doctors?

All of our UK GPs are trained in the NHS and registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), the organisation responsible for overseeing medical practitioners in the UK.

They’re experienced in treating a wide range of conditions, and can help with almost everything your regular GP could in a physical surgery.

How do I get my prescription?

If during your consultation the doctor decides you need a prescription, we’ll send it electronically to your nominated pharmacy. You can then pick up your medication within an hour.

If you don’t have access to the electronic prescription service, we’ll send your prescription to your surgery where you can pick up the paper prescription to bring to the pharmacy.

What if I need to see a doctor in person?

The online video consultation service through Push Doctor is an addition to your GP services you’re already offered at your surgery.

This means that you'll still be able to see your regular doctor in person. To do this, you just book in as normal.
