Want to know more about sick notes?
Can you provide a backdated sick note?
Our doctors can backdate a sick note (also known as a fit note) for up to 2 weeks. A sick note can sign you off work or education for up to 4 weeks.
It'll include details of when you'll be likely to return and any steps your employer or institution can take to help your return.
To get one, you need to book an online consultation with one of our doctors who will advise on whether or not we are able to backdate a sick note for you. We can send it to you by email or first class post.
Please note: You must provide evidence of sickness in order to receive a backdated sick note.
Can you provide a sick note for court?
We cannot provide any fit (sick) notes for court appearances. For this, you will need to speak to your GP.
Will my employer or educational institution accept your sick notes?
Our sick notes are just like the ones you would receive from your regular GP. They contain all the information needed by your employer or institution, including details of the issuing GP and their GMC (General Medical Council) number.
We also provide verification codes that can be used by your employer or institution to check the originality of sick notes by phone. This means you won't have to do anything else after you've given it to them.
Can you write referral letters?
Yes, our GPs can refer you to see a specialist.
The specialist can then book you in for further treatment, and any medical procedures you may need.
Your referral letter is sent via email or first class post, right after your appointment.
