What else do you need to know?

How can a doctor treat me online?

You’ll see one of our NHS-trained UK GPs over a video consultation. Just like in a physical consultation, the doctor will discuss your symptoms, and if relevant, any medical history.

They can also take a look at affected areas, for example if you have a rash.

Don’t worry, the doctor sits in a private consultation room to ensure you get the same privacy as in your regular surgery.

Can they treat me?

Most conditions GPs treat can be dealt with online, as physical examinations aren’t required. Because of this, 9/10 of our patients get the help they need online.

If you need tests or to see a specialist, we can refer you. Please note that our platform is only available to patients in the United Kingdom, however – see our patient terms and conditions for more information.

Getting my prescription or fit note

If you get prescribed medication, we can send your prescription to a local pharmacy within an hour. Where a fit note (sick note) is needed, the GP can send you one by email or first class post after the consultation.

How do I have my appointment?

Booking a consultation takes minutes. Just select a time that suits you, create your account and add your card details to pay for your appointment.

Entering your appointment

You can have your consultation in our app, or on the website using your computer. Make sure you sit somewhere private, quiet and with good lighting.

To enter your appointment, sign into your account and enter the virtual waiting room.

Here, you’ll be asked to confirm some personal details and prompted to test your microphone and camera before it starts. Have your ID ready as the GP will ask to see it.

Seeing the doctor

In the consultation, the GP will ask about your symptoms and can take a look at any affected areas.

If medically appropriate, our GPs can issue prescriptions, sick notes (fit notes) and referrals where appropriate.

Extending your appointment

Each appointment is 10 minutes long. If you’re a member, you can continue into an additional 10 minutes for free.

As a non-member, you can extend your appointment for an extra £15. Don’t worry, you’ll get a warning on your screen when your 10 minute appointment is nearing its end.

How do I get a prescription?

Our GPs can, where appropriate, issue prescriptions following a video consultation, and send this to a pharmacy near you within one hour.

In your consultation

The GP will discuss your symptoms to ensure you get the correct treatment.

When the prescription is issued, you’ll be asked to accept the £8 admin charge (unless you’re a member - this fee is then covered).

1 hour delivery

You can also choose 1 hour delivery for an extra £2.95 - the prescription is then available at a pharmacy near you within an hour. If you’re not in a rush, the prescription will still be available at the pharmacy the same day.

What do I say at the pharmacy?

At the pharmacy, just state that you’re picking up a private Push Doctor prescription and they will handle the rest.

How do I get referral letters and fit notes?

You first need to have a consultation with one of our GPs. Appointments are available in minutes and you’ll get your letter in an email after your appointment, if suitable.

How much is it?

For members, referral letters and fit notes are included in the £3 monthly fee so you’ll only pay the discounted £20 appointment cost.

For non-members, they cost £15 in addition to the £30 appointment cost.

Getting a referral

The GP will speak to you about your symptoms to make sure you get referred to the correct type of specialist, if suitable.

You’ll then receive your referral letter in an email following your consultation.

Getting a fit note

The GP will discuss your symptoms and, where appropriate, issue a fit note (sick note).

We’re able to issue backdated fit notes for up to two weeks, and a note can sign you off for up to four weeks.

You’ll receive your fit note in an email after your consultation.
