Sickness in the Workplace - Which Industries are Worst?

Gerald Heneghan

Which industries are worst when it comes to sickness in the workplace? We surveyed 1,000 people from various sectors and industries - here's what we found.

As part of our Digital Healthcare Review, we asked a thousand people, working in various industries and sectors, about sickness in the workplace.

Here's what we found:

In the past year, most people we surveyed had been into work with an infectious illness about three times on average, however, those working in utilities braved the workplace nearly five times while under the weather during this period.

Pressure to head into work when unwell was rife, although people in the manufacturing sector seemed to have it worst, with nearly 34% reporting that they felt obliged to head into work, even when they were ill.
